Dear Parents/Guardians:
Like every school in the TDSB, Bedford Park relies heavily on Parent Council fundraising initiatives to raise money to supplement our schools budget. Our fundraising initiatives are extremely important to the enriched experience that our children benefit from at Bedford Park.
Money raised by Parent Council in the past has been applied to a variety of enrichment activities and materials including:
- Visual and performing arts
- themed assemblies
- field trips
- athletics
- laptops, iPads, smartboards and projectors
- scientist in the school
- music
- caterpillar to butterfly observation
- robotics
Each year, Parent Council and its fundraising committees work very hard to raise funds for our children. Perhaps the simplest way of donating to Bedford Park is through our Direct Donation Campaign. In lieu of sending students home with the task of selling goods, collecting money and delivering items we are suggesting families donate to the Direct Donation Campaign.
We need your donation more than EVER this year as we are embarking on a very exciting new initiative! Bedford Park has been granted the opportunity through the TDSB to have a new turf field installed. This huge project has prompted the school to also look at revitalizing the other areas of the grounds to make it an overall better outdoor experience for everyone, however as you can imagine this will require extra support from our Bedford Park family and our community.
Direct donation offers families a different opportunity to “directly” impact student enrichment, however, it does not replace the importance of our annual community buildingfundraising events like: Community Night, Pizza Lunch and Grade 8 Graduation, nor does it negate charitable requests, or other occasional special fundraising activities.
For those who wish, a direct donation to Parent Council is an excellent way of contributing to our fundraising efforts, as all proceeds from donations go directly to the students through our annual budgeting process.
