Donate Your Books

Ever wondered if the Bedford Library could use your books? Yes. Any books that anyone wants to donate to the Bedford Library are MORE THAN WELCOME to do so. Books should be age appropriate and preferably less than ten years in print. As well, books should be “in the genre” that children today are interested in reading. Older books will not be processed into the library as in most cases children will not be attracted to them. Examples of books (fiction) that don’t “move” in the library are books such as the Hardy Boys, books by Lucy Maud Montgomery, books by EB White, etc. those types of books. Kids today are interested in non fiction books with facts. The books that were most borrowed last year were fact books like Ripley’s, Guinness book of world records, etc. In our library, we have a large number of fact books entitled the 10 Most…….. These books are still the most popular with our kids. Also, there is a series entitled Who Was or Who Were  or Where Is. Kids love these books. Lastly, books should hopefully be in good repair.
