Welcome Back – Principal’s Message 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the Bedford Park Public School website! On behalf of all of the staff at Bedford Park, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all our families!

This website (www.bedfordpark.ca) and e-mail notice system exists to enhance communications between the school and parent body and to help reduce our ecological footprint. We encourage parents to register on the website to receive electronic information and communication from the school. You are also encouraged to follow us on Twitter @DNMantia.

At Bedford Park PS we are committed to working professionally, respectfully and inclusively with our students, their parents and various community stakeholders. We strive to build strong, healthy and supportive relationships where all members of the school community are respected and valued.

We recognize the importance of the collaborative role of both parents and staff in the total education of students. We encourage positive, on-going communication so that together, parents and staff can work as partners towards the healthy development of each child. As your children progress through school, you can support and encourage them by taking an interest in their daily activities, having rich conversations, reading to your children and monitoring homework completion. Participating in school-community activities and events will ensure a strong partnership between home and school.

It is our goal to help students develop self-discipline and a positive attitude towards learning so that they can become productive, caring and responsible members of society. We strive to provide a learning environment where our students will be happy, successful and challenged to think critically and communicate effectively.

Bedford Park staff is committed to providing a well-rounded education and a strong academic program for all of our students. We strive to broaden your children’s experiences and to encourage them to develop new interests and curiosities about the world around them. There are many opportunities for students to enrich and extend their learning by participating in various clubs, performance groups, and school sports teams. As a staff, we will provide a safe learning environment that fosters co-operation and positive self-esteem.

At all times, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher should you have any questions about their progress.  We are here to work together in the best interests of student learning, well-being and achievement.  Also, please contact the school office staff or administration should you wish to share any comments or suggestions with respect to how we can best support your child.

Please continue to explore our website to learn more about our school and community. Please consider saving it as a “favourite” and coming back regularly to stay connected with our school community; and don’t forget to JOIN OUR EMAIL LIST on the site’s Home Page to ensure you are always up to date!

We look forward to working with you to provide the best possible educational opportunities for each student. Thank you for your supportive partnership in your children’s education.

Sincerely,

Ms. D. N. Mantia                                     Ms. M. Berger
