Who are we?
Parent Council consists of parents/guardians like YOU.
What does Parent Council do?
Parent Council is a parent/guardian run committee that works directly with school administration, teachers, and Student Council to fundraise for school-wide enrichment programs that benefit all Bedford Park students.
What are ‘enrichment programs’?
Parent Council helps support many activities that fall outside the standard TDSB curriculum:
• Scientist in the School
• Cardboard Boat Races
• Butterfly Life Cycle studies
• Art projects, French projects
• Music & Sports events etc – the options are endless!
Who can join the Parent Council?
Any parent or guardian of a current Bedford Park student can be a part of the Parent Council.
What roles comprise the Parent Council?
Parent Council is comprised of the following positions:
• Chair & C0-Chair
• Treasurer & Co-Treasurer
• Secretary
• Communications Liaison
• Members-at-large
However, don’t forget that all parents and guardians have a vote
so come out to the meetings to have your voice heard!
What time commitment is involved?
Whether you have a few minutes a week or a few hours – there is something for everyone – so don’t hesitate to see how you can help make a difference!
How many meetings are there each year?
Parent Council meets approximately 8 times throughout the year at the school.
Fundraising:
Bedford Park Parent Council plays
an important role in delivering enrichment
programs for our kids
through key fundraising initiatives
like:
• Monthly Pizza Lunch
• Direct Donation Letter
• Community Night
Council also oversees many special
initiatives each year:
• School-wide Art Projects
• Community and Charity work
• Book Drives and more!
This would not be possible without
the support of our Bedford Park
Family, so thank you to all the families
at Bedford Park!
