Bedford Exceeds Goal for Terry Fox Run by More Than 20 Percent!
2017 was a record breaker for the Fun Run, in which Bedford supported the Terry Fox Organization. At an assembly in early September hosted by Canadian Olympian Nikkita Holder, Bedford set the fundraising goal of $8,500 but ended up surpassing that goal by more than 20%, raising more than $10,000. Way to go Bedford! This was an amazing fundraiser and among the highest in the history of the event. Ms. Burk was instrumental in making run day a success and helping get our hundreds of students out onto the city streets for a spirited run. Bedford should give itself a big pat on the back for doing its part for an amazing cause!
Congratulations to the class of Ms. Diakos who won the Fun Run Pizza Party – awarded to the class that raised the most Toonies. Ms. Diakos’ class raised a grand total of $306.00. Runners up were Ms. Nadel at $275 and Ms. Mitz at $270. We should give special mention to Mr. Bonin’s class at $243 and Ms.Paterson at $220. These amazing class contributions were what got the school totals to what they were this year.
There were also some remarkable individual student fundraisers and this year, we need to congratulate Bella F on an outstanding raise of $1450.00. This is an extremely high amount for one student and she should be commended
for her hard work. Way to go Bella!!
