Bedford Fun Run–Supporting Terry Fox

September 28, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Along with many other schools in the Province, Bedford will run on Thursday, September 28 (Terry Fox School Run Day). Bedford has chosen to run through our neighbourhood, just as Terry did through countless cities across this country, unconditionally, rain or shine, crowds or no crowds. Bedford will commemorate his remarkable determination with a run that lets our kids remind their community how important it is to support people around. Thanks in advance for coming out to help and to cheer your kids on. NOTE: Route volunteers are still in need (great way to meet other parents esp. for younger grades), please e-mail kleightell@gmail.com with subject, “I Can Help With the Run.”

What You Need to Know

Students from Grades 1-7 will run a community route roughly between the time of 9:30 a.m and 10:30 a.m. The kindergarteners will stay in the school yard for their own custom ‘Fun Run’ program. Students are running for charity but this day is also a terrific way to kick off a school year with some spirit , music and fun. Let’s hope for sunshine, (but hey, it’s ok if it rains. Wear rain gear with a hood and run in the rain – that’s also fun!) Have your child bring in their water bottle that day and proper shoes.

Ways to Get Involved

An amazing $7500 was raised last year. This year the school (voted on by students) chose a target of $8500. It’s s0 doable if we get all hands on deck! Thanks again for your pledge forms, Toonies and time on Thursday September 28. Let’s have a great run!

Toonies for Terry

A great and simple way to help get our school donation target closer the the finish line. Have your child bring one in and drop it in the class cup. The class who raises the most wins a Pizza party.
